Kaduna International Airport

Kaduna International Airport (IATA: KAD, ICAO: DNKA) is an airport serving Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna State, Nigeria. The airport is situated approximately 22 kilometres (14 miles) northwest of the city. It officially opened in 1982.

Kaduna also has an older airfield, known as Old Kaduna Airport, located in the northern part of the city.

On March 26, 2022, the airport was attacked by bandits, resulting in the death of a security guard.

Accidents and Incidents

  • 1955Nigeria Airways Flight 357 crashed at the airport, resulting in the death of eleven passengers.
  • 20 August 2010Chanchangi Airlines Flight 334, a Boeing 737-200 (registration 5N-BIF), struck the localizer antenna and landed short of the runway. Several passengers were injured and the aircraft was substantially damaged. The airline suspended operations following the incident.
