Ibrahim Sallau Ali

Ibrahim Sallau Ali is a senior officer in the Nigerian Army. He currently serves as the Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in N'Djamena, Chad. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai, overseeing military efforts in Nigeria’s fight against insurgency.


Early Life and Education

Ali was born on 16 November 1970 in Nasarawa, Kano State, Nigeria, to Alhaji Sallau Ali and Hajiya Aishatu Ibrahim. He hails from Municipal Local Government Area of Kano State.

Military Career and Academic Background

Ali entered the Nigerian Defence Academy in 1987 as a member of the 39th Regular Course. He holds:

  • M.A. in International Relations, University of Ghana
  • Completed cadet training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK (1992), where he was awarded the Silver Bugle for athletic distinction.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps in April 1993.
