Eastern Polytechnic

Eastern Polytechnic is the first private polytechnic in Rivers State, Nigeria, established in 2008. Its main campus is located in Rumuokwurusi, Port Harcourt. From inception, the institution has emphasized innovation, entrepreneurship, and commitment to prepare students for successful careers across various fields.

The current Rector is Rev. Fr. Malachy Aguzuru C.S.Sp, ordained on 9 July 2005.

Eastern Polytechnic is approved by the Federal Ministry of Education (FME) and accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).


Courses

Eastern Polytechnic offers National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes. The ND programme typically spans two years.

As of February 2016, NBTE-accredited courses include:

  • Computer Engineering and Technology
  • Business Administration and Management
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering

Governing Council

The institution's Governing Council is composed of a Chairman and appointed members selected by the proprietor. Members serve a two-year term, with eligibility for renomination or reappointment, limited to two terms.
