Early Life and Education

Adebisi Balogun was born on 2 August 1952 in Ile Ife, then part of the Southern Region, British Nigeria, to Adetunji Saka and Modelola Balogun (née Afilaka).

He attended the University of Ibadan, where he earned: - B.Sc. in Agricultural Biochemistry – 1976
- M.Sc. in Agricultural Biochemistry – 1978
- Ph.D. in Agricultural Biochemistry – 1982


Career

  • 1982–1983: Research Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research, Lagos
  • 1983–1988: Lecturer, University of Ibadan
  • 1988–present: Joined Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA)
    • Became a Professor in 1994
    • Dean, School of Agriculture and Agricultural Technology (1997–2001)
    • Vice-Chancellor, FUTA (2007–2012)
